Volunteer Position Description

Purpose of position:

  • Improve the health of your community through assisting families
  • Training possibilities and career development
  • CAA training and One-e-App training for Interns and long–term Volunteers
  • Learn about State and County Health Programs
  • Learn about community resources
  • Flexible schedule
  • Good references upon successful completion

Qualifications:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • Bilingual preferred
  • Good communication skills a plus
  • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must be able to volunteer 4 to 10 hours a week for 4 months

Additional Intern Qualifications:

  • 100+ hours completed in 4 month period
  • In process of completing or have completed Bachelors degree preferred
  • Intermediate to advanced computer skills
  • Skilled with Microsoft Office Suite

Volunteer Responsibilities:

  • Outreach to families in office and at community events
  • Administrative support of staff and organization
  • Make referral calls and help answer main office line
  • Determine preliminary eligibility for health insurance and refer to nearest representative
  • Assist our organization in reaching and assisting more potential clients

Additional Intern Responsibilities:

  • Program implementation, evaluation and support
  • Assist our fund development efforts
  • Support our nonprofit management team
  • Create and implement marketing materials and campaigns
  • Expand resources and support systems for our clients
