Strengthening the Orange County Safety Net

The Health Funders Partnership champions efforts to strengthen Orange County’s safety net through funding, leadership, and education.

Investing in Orange County’s Safety Net

The Partnership has a long history of providing funding support to organizations and community-based collaboratives critical to the health and well-being of Orange County communities. (Please note that the Partnership does not accept unsolicited funding requests.)

Educating and Promoting Change

The Partnership is also committed to promoting system wide improvements in Orange County’s safety net. Core strategies include:

  1. Raising awareness and educating the funding community about Orange County and its safety net.
     
  2. Fostering learning, partnerships and action among the safety net community.
     
  3. Introducing innovative ideas and solutions to Orange County.
     

Past events hosted by the Partnership include:

  • January 2016 – The Real Orange County – An Innovative Look at Orange County’s Safety Net – The Health Funders Partnership, in partnership with the Southern California Grantmakers, co-hosted a bus tour for regional funders to provide an unparalleled look into the changing demographics of Orange County and the current state of safety net services in the region.
     
  • June 2015 – Integrative Health: Treating the Whole Person and Supporting the Health & Wellness of Orange County Residents. The Health Funders Partnership, in collaboration with University of California Irvine and the Samueli Foundation, hosted a conference to provide Orange County providers with an opportunity to learn from nationally recognized leaders about integrative health.
     
  • October 2013, the Health Funders Partnership of Orange County hosted a Safety Net Convening for local nonprofit and health care leaders and funders to learn and strategize collectively around implementation of the Affordable Care Act and changes to the health care system.
