Blue Shield of California Foundation is committed to ending domestic violence and strengthening California’s healthcare safety net. We believe that philanthropy has the power to transform the systems that serve vulnerable and low-income Californians and work to ensure that innovative high-quality services are available in every community across the state. With our grantees and partners, the Foundation continues to provide funding that addresses domestic violence and prevailing healthcare inequities so that we can achieve a future in which all Californians have what they need to be healthy and safe.

CalOptima is a public health plan created by the community, governed by the community, and accountable to the community. The public agency is the second largest health insurer in Orange County, providing coverage to one in eight residents and more than a quarter of our community’s children. CalOptima provides health care coverage through three major programs: Medi-Cal, OneCare and Healthy Families Program.

First 5 Orange County oversees the allocation of funds from the Proposition 10 tobacco tax that was passed by California voters in 1998. Funds help pay for early education, health care and child development programs for children from birth to five and their families. The Commission’s vision is that all children are healthy and ready to learn.

County of Orange Health Care Agency performs a variety of public health, medical, behavioral, and regulatory health functions that protect the general public, serve special need populations, assist business and industry and facilitate the work of other government entities and community-based service providers.

Hoag Memorial Hospital Presbyterian is an approximately $1 billion nonprofit, regional health care delivery network in Orange County, California, that treats more than 25,000 inpatients and 369,000 outpatients annually. Hoag consists of two acute-care hospitals – Hoag Hospital Newport Beach, which opened in 1952, and Hoag Hospital Irvine, which opened in 2010 – in addition to six health centers and eight urgent care centers. Hoag is a designated Magnet® hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). Hoag offers a comprehensive blend of health care services that includes five institutes providing specialized services in the following areas: cancer, heart and vascular, neurosciences, women’s health, and orthopedics through Hoag’s affiliate, Hoag Orthopedic Institute. In 2013, Hoag entered into an alliance with St. Joseph Health to further expand health care services in the Orange County community, known as St. Joseph Hoag Health. Hoag has been named one of the Best Regional Hospitals in the U.S. News & World Report Metro Edition. National Research Corporation has endorsed Hoag as Orange County’s most preferred hospital for the past 19 consecutive years and, for an unprecedented 20 years, residents of Orange County have chosen Hoag as one of the county’s best hospitals in a local newspaper survey.

The Mission of St. Joseph Health Community Partnership Fund, as an extension of Christ’s healing ministry, is to provide funding and assistance for improving the health and wellbeing of the economically poor, and utilize the strengths and diversity of our neighbors to build vibrant communities. This is accomplished by managing and allocating resources to communities and partners of goodwill engaged in innovative and effective initiatives to serve the common good.

Sisters of St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation is a non-profit, public benefit corporation, which addresses the needs of the working and indigent poor in Southern California, San Francisco Bay Area, Humboldt and Fresno Counties. The Sisters of St. Joseph Healthcare Foundation funds programs which directly serve the needs of the underserved, especially families and children at risk. The Foundation sponsors or supports long-term efforts which bring unity and healing where divisiveness and oppression exist.

The California Endowment is a not-for-profit, statewide foundation that works to make California a healthier place for all. Our mission is to expand access to affordable, quality health care for underserved individuals and communities and to promote fundamental improvements in the health status of all Californians.

Formed in 1999, the Healthcare Foundation for Orange County HealthCare Foundation works to improve the health of the neediest and most underserved residents, with particular emphasis on women and children of Central Orange county through both independent and collaborative grantmaking activity. The Foundation continues to support coordination and collaboration with other health partners, in order to increase resources applied to priority health areas.
